The breast lift, or mastopexy, is required on individuals who have downward pointing, sagging breast tissue. Ideally, the nipple of a breast is in the lower third of the breast pointing forward. Pregnancies and age can create relaxation of the tissues over time. The breast lift moves the placement of the nipple on the breast into a higher, more desirable position and tightens the skin envelope to form a "perkier" breast shape. The end result is a prettier shape to the breast.
